Propane Tank Refill

Propane tanks once they are empty are usually exchanged for a new one. They only have to bring the empty one to the agent and pay for the new one. On the other hand, exchanging the old ones for new ones has its disadvantages as well. One disadvantage is that the old one may still contain some amount of propane although you decide to exchange it. An individual sometimes may exchange a propane tank thinking that it may be over while in midst of cooking. Naturally this type of user does not get their money’s worth, if the tank is returned with some propane. On the other hand, the new one you buy may not be 100 percent full.

A Propane tank refill can help you to avoid these problems and save you money in many ways. When you refill your tank, you only have to pay for the quantity you are refilling. You don't have to pay for the quantity that already exists in the cylinder. For example, if you have 15 pound propane tank, which has 2 lbs at the time of exchanging, you have to pay for the full tank whereas when you refill it, you only have to pay for 13 pounds as you don't have to pay for the quantity of 2 lbs that is already in it. With refilling, you know exactly how much propane is filled and the quantity left inside at the time of refilling.

However, you have to wait at filling stations till the attendant refills your tank, which some people consider it as a waste of time and they exchange them with new ones to save on time. Some filling stations give discounts for refilling propane. For an example, if you refill at a location of their choice, they will put a sticker on it and every time you refill the tank, you will be given a discount.

Many shops provide consumers with empty propane cylinders. You can have one of them for refilling rather than buying a new one. Refilling stations normally check your empty tanks before refilling and do not refill if it is not in a suitable condition for refilling. Uncertified ones, damaged tanks, heavily rusted tanks, or painted ones are not used for refilling. After refilling, you have to keep the tank upright while transporting.  Never keep the Propane tank refill in your vehicle, as weather conditions, heat, sunlight etc., may change the surrounding environment and may become inflammable causing sudden fires.
