High Pressure Propane Regulator

A propane regulator is a device that regulates the flow of the fuel which is fuel to a device that is connected to it, such as a heater or stove or a barbeque grill or any other appliance that uses propane as the fuel. The presence of a regulator helps to control the amount of fuel that the device uses

The regulator is mostly operated manually; the regulator can be used to switch on or off the supply of the fuel to the appliance. The main reason why the regulator was introduced in the set up was to avoid any accidents due to fuel leakage or high fire. Hence the regulator is considered as compulsory safety equipment that is to be attached to any propane based appliance. It reduces the risk of an explosion or a fire. The propane regulator which is attached to a fixed propane tank at home is used as a valve to open or close the fuel supply to the house or for multiple applications. The regulators just work as an on/off valve.

These regulators are made of metal, preferably brass and they have a knob to turn the supply on or close it. The knob is usually made of plastic; the regulator is often attached to a rubber tube. This tube connects the propane tank to the device which uses the fuel for heating or other purpose. The small rubber tube cannot be used with a fixed propane tank which is big in size.

There are regulators which can handle high pressure, these regulators are mostly used in industries or manufacturing plans. Gas trucks which carry propane also are fitted with high pressure regulators, these regulators are made of brass and they have a strong locking system. This regulator can be fixed to a propane tank that contains fuel of high pressure. The tube that is employed in such high pressure tanks are also made of a different quality of rubber that can withstand the high pressure. The high pressure regulator are usually colored red, they are designed in such a way that they can handle high pressure on the inlet side. There are special high pressure regulators which have a two stage regulator system. A high pressure regulator can hold the pressure of twenty five times more pressure than an ordinary regulator. Hence these regulators are used only when it is necessary in a particular atmosphere.
