Propane Refill Adapter

Propane refill adapter hoses come in a variety of lengths. Your propane devices can easily be connected to a propane bottle that is different from the one it was designed to use.  Propane refill adapter hoses are easy to use, safe, relatively inexpensive, and are able to adapt all of your propane devices to any propane tank

The only difference between small and large propane tanks is the size and connectors.  Propane hose adapters are designed with propane tank use in mind.  Most propane devices require small one-pound propane tanks and empty faster than the larger tanks.  They can be more expensive to use and are not refillable.  You will be benefiting the environment and saving money when you use the larger propane tanks.  The small and large propane tanks offer the same amount of propane because the pressure is the same.

You can use propane adapter hoses to connect smaller propane tanks to devices that normally require the larger propane tanks.  Only do this for temporary and emergency situations.  You will need to determine the correct propane hose adapter for your propane device.  To do this you will want to measure the length between the device and the space where you are going to set your propane tank.

When you connect a new propane tank to your propane device, you should always check the fittings for leaks.  The best way to check the fittings for leaks is to use a solution of dish soap and water in a spray bottle.  If there is a leak, the solution will cause bubbles to develop at the leak.  Turn your propane tank off, remove the propane refill adapter, and reconnect.  Continue to do this until you do not get any bubbles indicating a tight correct connection.

Be careful when removing or installing your propane tanks.  Make sure that the propane tank valves are turned off before making any changes to the propane tank or fittings.

The price of the smaller propane tanks are approximately $2.00 to $5.00.  The larger refillable 20-pound tanks can cost about $20.00 to $30.00 depending on the retailer.  A large number of devices use the propane tank as a base; therefore, not all propane devices are adaptable to smaller propane tanks.  You can also refill your propane tank yourself after you purchase a supply bottle.  There will be enough pressure when opened to start refilling your propane tank.
