Propane Fuel Injection

This article aims to communicate the benefits of a very powerful enhancer for engines that run on diesel. Specifically, it deals with the propane fuel injection system. A propane injection system offers an increase of at-least 80 - 100 horse power on trucks and other heavy vehicles; it generally offers an increase of 40 - 50 horse power in cars that run on diesel. There is a significant increase in the amount of torque generated too. The popular belief is that propane injection causes the engines some harm however the system is not modifiable and runs on vacuum draws, which uses the right amount of propane, and ensures that the engine runs safely. The system is also equipped with a vaporizer, which does not allow liquid propane to enter the engine, and thus eliminates the probability of a liquid sure, which is very lethal for engines.

A propane system, if installed correctly is very useful for your engine. Propane is a form of high-octane fuel, which is more powerful and efficient than gasoline or diesel. It burns at a slower pace and takes longer and hence increases power and economy. It is also believed that diesel engines only burn a certain percentage of diesels, and that a sufficient amount is wasted, propane ensures maximum utilization of fuel. Propane also reduces the collection of carbon in engines, which reduces wear and tear; it does not dilute oil and hence lengthens its change intervals.

When an engine is running on propane, the usual amount of diesel is injected but less is used for an efficient burn. The increase in power and economy ensures that less pedal is used. Even though the gain in mileage is not incredible, the cost saved in traveling is noticed. The reduction in wear and tear of the engine also lowers the maintenance cost, and the increase in power must also be considered.

The drawback however is that propane stations are not as easily found as gas stations, but users will not have to worry about running low on propane and damage to engine. Most systems also provide an on/off feature, which enables it to be switched off when not required. In conclusion, Propane should be widely used and not feared. It has many great benefits. At a time when the world is suffering from poor mileage and expensive gas, propane is an ideal solution to increase performance and reduce fuel and maintenance costs.
