Shop Propane Heaters

If you are looking for a way to heat an area where you will be working or doing a project, you may want to consider purchasing a shop propane heater.  You can purchase a propane shop heater in a variety of sizes and shapes.  They can heat a small area or larger rooms, depending on what size you purchase.

You can shop online or go to your local retailer or home improvement store.  Propane heaters will require a propane tank that may or may not come with your heater.  You want to make sure you have one before going to use the heater.

One of the best features of the shop propane heater is portability.  You can take these types of heaters just about anywhere you need heat.  They are very efficient and will heat small and large areas quickly.  They are definitely cleaner than using wood or natural gas.  They do not require as much maintenance as the other types of heaters.

You do not have to spend a fortune on a shop propane heater you can actually purchase one very cheaply when you shop around.  A few things you will want to keep in mind when shopping for your shop propane heater are:

First, you will need to determine the size you will need to heat your area.  Keep in mind that it takes approximately 10,000 BTU’s to heat a 150 sq. foot area.  You will need to measure the area you want to heat to make this determination.

Next, you will want to shop around for the best prices.  You can compare prices on the internet or by calling and checking the prices of your local retailers and home improvement stores.

After you have acquired a propane heater, you will need to connect it to your propane heater and make sure there are no leaks.  The best way to determine this is to use a solution of dish soap and water in a spray bottle and spray your fittings and connections.  If there is a leak, the dish soap will bubble.  If you find a leak, turn off the valves and disconnect from your heater, reconnect and spray with the solution.  You will need to continue these steps until there are no leaks.

Propane heaters are usually vent free because they do not emit enough fumes to warrant ventilation.  Due to such a high demand for propane heaters customers have demanded that manufacturers develop a convenient and easy to use propane heater.
