Nowadays, propane tanks have become quite modern unlike the heavy, obsolete tanks of the past .Earlier, when one would purchase a gas stove then the propane tank would be included - it would come as part of a package but not any more. One can buy the gas stove and the propane tank separately.

The modern twenty pound cylinder which comes is made of a translucent material which permits you to see the level of gas or propane remaining in the cylinder so that when it is getting over, it gives you time to order a refill. Similarly, when a new cylinder comes to your place, it will permit you to check the level of propane – if it is less; you could refuse to accept it and can insist on a new one.

The new twenty pound cylinder is less heavy than the traditional steel cylinder of yore –the reason for this, is that the covering around the new tank is made of plastic which is molded. Since this is less heavy, obviously it is less stressful for housewives - a less strain on their backs – obviously; their bodies would be in better shape. The other advantage of the new twenty pound cylinder, is that unlike the traditional steel cylinders of yore, it comes in different colors - this would be useful to choose one which will match the general décor of your kitchen – the colors available currently are yellow, blue, red and beech wood. Unlike the traditional steel cylinder, it is free from corrosion and does not rust easily. Also one can easily clean this with a solution of soap and water. As described earlier, since it is not very heavy, if you need to change its position, it should not be too difficult. Also, it is much less difficult to connect the tank to the gas stove, as against the traditional steel cylinder.

One need not go out to refill your propane – in most cases, if there are appliances at home which using propane, the refill can be done at your place with a nominal charge only - all that one needs to do it to place a call to your propane provider and they will do the needful.

The propane gas stoves also that can be connected to these new twenty pound cylinders are very convenient and easy to use. The additional accessories that may be needed for these new gas stoves are also not very expensive.
