Propane Heat Cost

The number of people using propane for heating their homes is getting larger and larger. The statistics says that every day 250 families in the USA reconstruct their heat system (whichever it was) and start using propane. Have you ever asked yourself why this is happening? You probably have and the answer is not surprising at all- it is because of the financial crisis which hit the world more than a year ago.

Most of the people have already realized that the propane is the cheapest way of heating a home. It does not matter how original and brilliant you are, you just cannot find any cheaper way for heating your apartment or house. Of course, there are some “projects” which might turn out to be slightly cheaper but a huge investment needs to be made! And if you choose any of them, you will probably return on your investment in 60 years because, as I said, the difference is not dramatic!

However, how much does heating a house/apartment with propane actually cost? Those of you who still do not have a propane heating system are probably very interested to know. It is what will be the last drop in the cup and will make you install a propane heating system also. You will just not believe it how much money you are going to save.

Before we start with the calculations, I will let you know that all figures which are going to be mentioned are according to the rate of costs in the USA. So, a liter of propane in the USA costs around $0.72 and you will probably need around 200 liters propane for a month if you live in a middle-sized house. That means that your heat expenses will be around $150 per month. Now let’s make a comparison with the other ways of heating- if you use electricity your expenses (still for a middle-size house) will be around $450, or if you are a fan of the fireplaces you are going to need around $350 for firewood.

It definitely makes you think about all these heat expenses and the bills which you have to make, doesn’t it? The calculations show that you can save up to $3500 a year! Just think about all the things which you could do with so much money. And you can save it so easily and fast- all you need to do is to install a propane heating system, which is much more effective also.
