Propane Tanks Price

The cost of propane gas can change from each season and year.  The purchase of propane is very different from purchasing gasoline.  When you purchase a large propane tank to store your propane outside of your home you can either purchase the tank or rent it.  The company you decide to do business with will come to your home and refill the tank after you call and advise them you are low on propane.

After you have located the dealer you want to use you will need to decide what type of propane tank you want.  They are available underground and above ground.  You will also need to decide what size tank you will need.  Determine the size tank you purchase or lease by the size and number of rooms you will be heating.  Most propane companies will supply all the fittings needed when you purchase the tank.  Some companies will offer financing also since the cost of the large propane tanks can be relatively expensive.

If you are looking to purchase a propane tank for use with a gas grill, temporary heater, or lantern, you can purchase the smaller propane tanks at your local retailer or home improvement hardware store.  Instead of refilling your smaller tank at a gas station, you can exchange your empty tank for a full one at your local retailer or hardware store.  You will receive a full tank when you leave your empty one with the retailer.

A 20 pound propane tank will cost your around $32.00 to $50.00 and the 30 pound cylinder will cost approximately $80.00.  Most propane tanks are manufactured with the following features:

Lightweight

Rugged

Steel construction

Damage resistant

Clean and dry

You can purchase a 33.5-pound propane tank for around $200.00 and used with temporary heaters, gas grills, and on your boats or in your home.

It is cheaper to take your empty propane tank to a gas station that offers refills of propane instead of exchanging it for a full one.  You can save 20 to 30 percent by taking your tank to a gas station.  If you exchange your tank at your local retailers, you may not be getting a full tank.  Some retailers are only filling their 20-pound tanks with 15 pounds of propane and selling them for 20 pounds.

When you fill your empty propane tank at a gas station, your tank will weigh about 37 pounds for a 20-pound tank.  Make sure you check the prices at all your local retailers to get the best price.  Always transport your full tank with care.
