First a person has to decide in choosing between a fixed propane tank and a portable tank. The big fixed propane tanks are often available at an installment price based on a monthly basis. They can be refilled when the needed, the portable type is often easy to get in a departmental store or at gas stations. It costs around 100$ to take a propane tank in lease for about a year. The portable propane tanks can be bought at a price ranging from 20-40$ based on the capacity of the tank.

While buying a fixed propane tank, careful layout for the gas pipe lines should be laid. When buying a portable propane tank, the valve and the regulator should be checked for any possibility of leakage. It can be easily identified because a tank that has a leakage emits certain odor.
