Many times the labs test for safety and for the effects of things when used in the transportation industry or in farming or other industries that have a direct impact on our society. Safety and human side effects are tested to ensure that the product is safe and doesn't harm people, animals, or even plants that we use for food. The government of our country sets guidelines for all manufactured goods and processes that are used by people in consumer use or in manufacturing or farming. Free product testing is often used to set these guidelines. Once these guidelines are established they a published and are expected to be followed. Unfortunately, we are not able to regulate products imported from other countries. In this case we can use free product testing to test imported items to see if they meet our minimum standards.
